Why does White Fences require an assessment lesson?
Riders come to our program with a wide range of experience levels and goals. An assessment lesson allows our trainers to evaluate a rider’s experience, balance, and goals so we can match them with the appropriate horse and lesson program.
This helps ensure a safe and productive experience for both riders and horses and allows us to place riders in the program where they will learn and progress most effectively. Assessment lessons are common at professional training programs because they allow instructors to understand a rider’s background before recommending a training plan. Because of the time involved, the use of trained school horses, and the individualized evaluation by a professional instructor, the assessment lesson is priced accordingly.
