Dressage Trainer, Instructor and Director of Dressage for Young Riders
Daemie is a USDF Bronze and Silver Medalist and an ARIA Certified Instructor Level 1 and 2 in Dressage. In addition, she is a professional member of the United States Dressage Federation (USDF), United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) as well as United States Pony Club (USPC). Daemie's philosophy for riding is to have fun and build relations with each other, and with the horses, to have an ongoing commitment to the sport, be role models and demonstrate good sportsmanship. She encourages students to be part of the USDF, USEF and/or the Junior/Young Riders Programs which offer opportunities of scholarship and mentoring through regional and national programs.
Raised in a military family, Daemie Kennedy created opportunities to work with horses in Alaska, Virginia and Texas. First with ponies, then competing in various disciplines, ultimately focusing on dressage. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Biomedical Science, College of Veterinary Medicine and had a career in Medical Sales in Virginia, North Carolina and Washington D.C., while also competing her thoroughbred in Hunter/Jumper and Dressage competitions. She opened and operated,"The Sporting Horse" tack shop in Williamsburg, Virginia.
Upon moving back to Texas, she earned her Bronze and Silver Medals. She currently competes her DWB gelding at Intermediare 1 and is training her DWB mare for competition at 2nd/3rd level(s). She is an active member of Austin Dressage Unlimited and is Red Cross certified in CPR and Basic First Aid.
